Top 6 Mistakes New E-Liquid Users Make

Everyone is in the same boat – you make mistakes when you first start to vape. As a new e-liquid user armed with your first electronic cigarettes, you start as seems the right way, but it doesn’t always work. The trick is not to give up – vaping is a great way to stop those tobacco cigarettes!  And to help you avoid or at least remedy those mistakes, here are some of the most common ones.

1. Buying An Advanced Vape Mod At The Start

Because you are already a smoker, there’s the temptation to think you are experienced, but vaping is very different in some ways from smoking. So when you go for your first e-cigarette, don’t be tempted by high-end devices with advanced vape mods. The trick is to start with something fairly simple and learn what works for you, then go for more advanced models as you get used to vaping.

2. Going Cheap On Your E-Cigarette

At the other end of the scale, don’t go for the cheapest e-cigarette you can find. There are solid reasons for this – that five-year-old technology that is going for a tenner on the market stall isn’t going to be the best option for a new vaper. You can find poor performance, bad vapour production and lousy battery life from older models because the tech has advanced rapidly.

3. Starting At The Wrong Nicotine Level

Before you dive in and buy a load of wholesale e-liquids, it is important to get the right nicotine level. Too low and you will still crave tobacco cigarettes, making the switch more difficult. But too high, you might find that the throat hit is too harsh, and the process is uncomfortable. Most people tend to go too low but talk to people in your local shop or supplier and they will help guide you.

4. Not Trying Different Flavours

One of the great things about e-liquids is the range of flavours involved. But new vapers often buy a flavour and think they have to stick with it, even if they aren’t keen on it. Don’t be afraid to buy a few different flavours and try them out. Finding something that is enjoyable will help make the switch from tobacco cigarettes much easier.

5. Getting The Wrong PG/VG Ratio

The PG/VG ratio is the balance between propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) in a product. These are colourless alcohols that produce vapour when you vape. PG has a better throat hit and more flavour while VG is sweeter, thicker and creates more vapour. Most people start with a higher PG level because VG needs special coils to work.

6. Not Using Stop Smoking Help

If you can use vaping to stop smoking all by yourself, that’s amazing. But if you are finding it a bit of a struggle, don’t be afraid to reach out to the different stop smoking services available to get some help. This might help with vaping, learning how to make the switch or even other stop smoking products to use alongside your e-cigarette.
